Outcome goals are difficult to accomplish because they tend to have factors that are not solely in one's control. Layne Goldsmith, a University of Washington Professor of Art and Design was the juror and selected 36 tapestries, including the above piece, for the Pacific Time Zone tapestry show.
The show will be in Corvallis, Oregon
August 18th - September 20th, 2016
The artists must live in the Pacific Time Zone, including Mexico and British Columbia.
TAPS, ( Tapestry Artists of Puget Sound) is the sponsor organization.
My personal goal was a stretch but I completed weaving Schweitzer Mountain Sunrise by one of my daughter's May 2015 graduation.
This view was so inspiring, 6:20 Christmas morning, apricot to azure, I had to weave it!

The idea is to challenge yourself creatively every day for the month of January. Wherever you do your work, however you do your work, just show up every day and do it. It’s that simple. How to challenge yourself is up to you – but do challenge yourself & share your experiences here on this blog. This is a fun & powerful experience if you allow it.

Do I Have to Blog Everyday?

No. Though it's a good thing, a fun thing, and highly encouraged at least now and again. Some participation lets us know you are on board, inspires others and may be used to determine eligibility for inclusion in a show (if we have one).

Do I Make Art Everyday?

Yes. That is the commitment.

Art-a-Day is self-regulating

It is very loose; however diligence is expected because that's what makes it expansive -for you. That is, you commit yourself in whatever fashion you can to "doing" art every day. Add to your piece each day or create something new, it’s up to you. It might mean folding a paper napkin while you are on an airplane flying across the globe because that's all you could do that day - but it was intentional.
