Carving and Painting

This is an old unfinished project. The carving was done on an emu egg a couple years ago. now I've decided to give it some color. I've corrected some of the carving and will paint this like a Monarch Butterfly. It won't be exact but I hope close enoughto be identifiiable. I've started with Watercolor paint but I think I'm going to switcch to acrylic. I think that acrylic will be more practical for this project.
