The pen and ink sketches that have been posted are great and have inspired me to give it a try - with a rollerball pen. Yesterday, the phone was the most interesting thing in clear view on my desk. After doing the phone, I pulled the stapler out of the drawer and just started in sketching. Ended up with floating office supplies.
Maybe I should get a fountain pen with permanent ink so I can brush some watercolor over sketches. Any recommendations for the type or brand to buy?

Laura, this is super!! I love floating staplers, and I like how you slipped the time and date into the sketch!! Two options for ink: Pigma Micron pens sold at Michael's, and Hobby Lobby; and, india ink. Both waterproof and fun to work with. I use the Pigma Microns almost exclusively.
Oooops....I meant, Lisa!
You sketchers are inspiring. Best get me some Pigmas!
I love Microns but I also use Copic multiliners and Staedtler Pigment Liners. Staples carries the Staedtler pens in a set of 4 sizes in a hard plastic case so that one is easy to carry in my purse. My confession is I'm a pen hoarder. I have so many and am diligent to cap them when I'm not using them that some of my pens are over 10 years old and still have life to them. Guess that comes from my lean years when my children were small.
