I finally feel like I may be ready to come back among the living. geez louise. That was a doozy! Here are some step by step shots of the kinetic weaving I am working on. I first separated the paper into deckled strips, and then stained the paper in a coffee/tea soup. I am now adding collage elements of gold leaf and spiraled wool.

Welcome back to the land of the living!
Eager to see how this evolves because your work and aesthetic is so luscious and I'm just not "catching the vision" from the bowl o' round things!
*grin*
I know! It looks like a batch of onion rings ready to be fried up huh! That photo is of the strips of paper being stained/dyed with coffee and tea. I left them in the brew for a couple of hours and then ever so gently untangled them, straightened them out and laid them flat to dry. After they dried I brushed off the coffee grounds and now I am adding the various collage elements to them. I'll take a photo today so you can see the progress. It's pretty fun.
very interesting and innovative. Can't wait to see more of the process. I don't think you want to know what I "saw" when I first looked at these photos. ;-)
Very cool - I'm so interested in collages; can't wait to see what develops!
PS Are you finding a use for all that coffee you didn't use at DS Watkins coffee shop? (smile)
hey anonymous that coffee got brewed and DRANK. I know... I seriously had to consider drinking the coffee first and then using the used grounds as a much weaker dye. Art won out, (and I wasn't down to my last cupppa...yet) hmmm. which do I love more. art/coffee/art/coffee. could be a toss-up!!
: D
What a delight to have both!
