I love to go into places in and around the tricities, or elsewhere for that matter, sit down somewhere and just start drawing. It's rather amazing too how people just basically ignore you. This is a sketch I did in Fred Meyer's in Kennewick a few weeks ago.

This is amazing! It's like you made a view into a word of graphite and paper. Well done! It is funy how people ignore you when you're doing art in public. I paint at Starbucks and people go to extra lengths to pretend I'm not there. It's very entertaining to watch really.
Nice sketch Jim. Wouldn't it be a kick to sketch Sarah painting at Starbucks?
Hey, LaPoynte, I'm thinking that may be what we do this Saturday, head indoors and sketch each other, for our SketchCrawl because it's looking like rain for Saturday.
That is pretty cool, Jim. Here's an idea. We are hanging paintings this Saturday at Hastings around 9 ish. Ought to come by there and sketch us all LOL
I watched mesmerized as a fella at a conference sat at his table and sketched fellow attendees then water colored them in. Stunning work, but I felt voyeur-ish watching him. That seems silly to me now. I could have gone up to him at break to express my appreciation. That shy, embarrassed feeling might be what others experience seeing you sketching in public. That, or they're afraid you'll sketch them!
