Looky, looky, aint it purdy?

I felt well enough to go pound some metal today. So, without the "proper" hammers and only a couple of youtube videos under my belt. I forged on! I found it to be an interesting way to form metal. Heat, squelch, bend, put into a vise, hammer. Heat, squelch, unfold, hammer flat. Repeat as many times as needed for folds. I loved how I was able to get the metal on the one pendant to kinda flare out on the bottom. On the other one, I was able to get some lateral movement from it. I accented that one with some silver balls. It's no where near done. But a nice experiment at any rate.

Very cool! I tried some fold forming a while back but never really took it through its paces. Eager to see what you create!
These a beautiful!

Love the colors and the malleable quality that you get. It almost resembles folds in fabric.

This was done with 24g copper a bit thicker than suggested. I have some really think copper around here somewhere...I think that will look better and be easier to mold into something delicious. But I am pretty pleased at how this turned out.

copper-talk?

LOL, copper talk! :D The thinner the metal, the easier to fold. The thicker, the stronger vise you need, stronger arms etc.

The pictures don't do them full justice. They are truly scrumptious!
