Pendleton Selvedges and High Warp Tapestry

Artist: Patti Kirch
In De Stijl art movement style,
the above rug is woven with Pendleton Woolen Mill selvedges,
at the same time, I wove vibrant yet restful tapestry rectangles.

High Warp, is the European term for a vertical Gobelin tapestry loom.  The warp, seine twine, takes taught tension, needed for successful rug and tapestry combination weaving.  Selvedges from the Pendleton Woolen Mill will be the ground and the restful circular patterns will be woven with hand spun, hand dyed Canadian wool singles.
