So good to unplug and spend time with family. Now excited to get back to the studio.
This is a composite of recent sketchbook doodles over portion of book cloth I made at BookArts today.
(Thank you, Vickie, the consummate host and teacher, for making sure I had something to take home though I brought no supplies!)
I now have a cute little Canon SD1300IS camera and a full tank of propane in the studio. I am so Good to GO!

I like it!
Mind you, I said my doodles were not "justifiable." Drawing is an awkward, untrained though useful tool for me, not a gift. I tried to make them not so tragic looking by adding a colored background. *har har har*
By the way - I'd love some basic drawing lessons. Any suggestions?
draw what you see...
pad-dum-bump!
(if it were only that easy)
(i can give you a few pointers, stop in sometime)
I guess I need to practice drawing what I see with my eyes so I can draw what I see in my mind.
I'm with you on this one Bobi; I've read books and watched instructional videos on how to draw but I'm still awkward and uncertain when I draw or sketch. I'd love a class or two but find I'm most intimidated about the idea....so I just muddle along doing the best I can with what I have...
Drawing to me is seeing something and letting it go through you onto a piece of paper; its magic and it can't be done wrong. A funny thing I find about drawing is, the more accurate a drawing is, the more un-interesting it becomes.
Oh I like that a lot, Dave, thanks.
