"EDM #11: Draw Your Sunglasses, or Glasses"

EDM Challenge #11 is to "draw your sunglasses, or glasses."  Since I figure that would be just a little bit uninteresting, I went online to find something else and found "steampunk goggles."  Don't ask how I discovered the term "steampunk" but somehow in my searching it popped up.

The one is very tame compared to many others which are adorned with watch-gears and springs, and jewelry and all sorts of interesting things.  Few of them are actually functional, I don't think anyway, and all are designed in the name of art.  So there you go, my "steampunks."

Someone locally must be making these because I've seen them displayed at "You & I Framing & Gallery."

mini Portrait #16

Here she is again ... this time with a frontal view, cooler light, glasses, and eyelashes. Also am observing that the whites of the eyes are rarely really white--but we already knew that, right?. And the translucent skin takes on so many different tones.

Had a fun day, and delivered 3 paintings to the Mercer Estates Winery in Prosser. I've not been there before and so it's fun to be part of that. They have this gigantic wall, that is covered with a clay surface treatment. Very beautiful. I have no idea how they manage to hang art on these walls, they are using nails. Will post a picture of the display once it is hung.

Totally Random Day

First thing today I got caught up playing with this: http://designeyeq.owenscorning.com/DesignTool
We're in serious need of a new roof, but which color...?  With this little tool you can try out roofs, siding style and colors, masonry types, window trim and...!

<=Studio time started with little box templates, where to have a hinge..?  Probably the one in front thought its difficult to see.  Imagine a 1" silver pendant with a scroll or book inside.

<= I went looking for a square block to act as a stop for the metal shear - and got distracted by picture frame glass and microscope slides. The white ones are the label end cut off with images scratched into them.  I think it's Chicago.  The shoe in the plaza is a Claes Oldenburg sculpture.  See the lobby art inside the building?

<=Then this bad boy went and got himself in trouble scaring the neighbors. He's not bad, just none too bright. He's off the set until the police release him.

Yeah... I don't understand either.  Some days its just like that...
Though Scott says he notices a rectangle theme.   :)
