"Dream", and color manipulation

"Dream" original 12x12 on cradled masonite.

"Dream" with vibrancy digitally altered

"Dream" color inversion of the version above.
I wanted to see how much I could manipulate the color of an existing painting in photoshop. It does create for some interesting variations. First one is the original, the second two are the variations. The second one was a variation of the vibrance, the third started as an inversion of the color of the one above it, and texturizing the image. I'm enjoying these. Would be fun to paint them backwards this way.

... until i'm lost in a maze of pixels, rather than living with paint under my fingernails? you betcha. And I'd probably live longer too. I see how it can be so addictive. I did do this once--painted a small portrait and then colorized it in some cute app I have. Then went back and repainted the original to make it more vibrant. That would be a fun series huh?

As I was reviewing all the entries, I couldn't help but think how gorgeos this set is. They really caught me the first time I saw them, but it may have been percolating in my mind but I love em. - Ed

Greg, maybe a bit like a parallel universe? ;-)
