Ashby Day 7

Hello, I finished the one called BOLT. 18 x 24 Acrylic. I know it looks simple but its exactly what I wanted. At first there was this field of blue with a white stripe, not that interesting. Then made the stripe look lavender while making the background just have a little bit of something, it might be a building just didn't want it to detract from the Bolt. Tonight I added the brighter whites for the little forked lightning. THIS painting has a story behind it. Not many of mine are of actual events. More than 20 years ago I was on the deck of my apartment, seeing all the little forked lightning, probably less than 1/16 inch diameter, total guess, it was so low I can see other buildings behind it. THEN off to my left in the road of the next apt complex was this huge straight bolt of lightning, like a laser from the sky. Straight as pipe, PURPLE with little white streamers of forked lightning coming off of it, The straight purple bolt appeared to be about 6-8 inches in diameter. It was probably about 2-3 stories high, right down to the pavement for an instant then gone. Needless to say it was time to go in. :)
