HOW did you DO this?!

Hello Nancy,

Well the short answer is: I painted it.

It is digital but it is definitely not computer generated. Digital painting software is getting pretty dialed in and I used the digital equivalent of oil paint and a palette knife, with a pressure sensitive stylus, to create this piece, one stroke at a time, using the palette knife to blend.

It was very tedious but the pits in the background where all placed by hand. Wasn't much fun but it had to be done.

Why I did it: It started out because I wanted to play and decided to try to see how subtlety I could blend one color into the other and this is how it turned out.

Thanks for asking.

Great insight into your process. I'm wondering if actual paint on canvas would be easier. It looks so true, and pastel-like and not digitally created.
