Re-gessoed the big canvas last night. Missed some spots before. Am not excited about the Ray Charlse picture's subtleness so that will make it a challenge. Want to do more plein air. We should start a plein air group. Took some photos of previous pieces to show inmates only this time I included plein air landscapes along with people paintings. I have some paintings of colorless people too this time. Have you ever really looked at Eartha Kitt's or Miles Davis' faces? What a faces! They're next. Are we going to have an exhibit of our work in March? Thanks. Unknown AKA Pat Fleming

Unknown said...: I don't know who you are unknown but our lives are going in parallel. I finished Gessoing all the masonite boards I cut out of half the nine dollar masonite board I bought at the hardware store. I love my new table saw! - Ed; January 13, 2013 at 6:21 PM

Do I Have to Blog Everyday?

No. Though it's a good thing, a fun thing, and highly encouraged at least now and again. Some participation lets us know you are on board, inspires others and may be used to determine eligibility for inclusion in a show (if we have one).

Do I Make Art Everyday?

Yes. That is the commitment.

Art-a-Day is self-regulating

It is very loose; however diligence is expected because that's what makes it expansive -for you. That is, you commit yourself in whatever fashion you can to "doing" art every day. Add to your piece each day or create something new, it’s up to you. It might mean folding a paper napkin while you are on an airplane flying across the globe because that's all you could do that day - but it was intentional.
