Day 30 (laura gable)

This was actually a 2 day process. Started a smallish canvas a few days ago, sketched in paint (top photo), and then blocked in the color today. It has a ways to go to make it believable (and the oranges are way too strong). Wish I was there again, on the banks of the river at the Sleeping Lady Lodge in Leavenworth. Wouldn't that be fun to be there painting on location?? (perhaps a bit chilly ... but fun, I bet)

I love the raw-ness of the sketched in paint piece. I'm searching understanding for why. Raw is all I can come up. Maybe since becoming a raw-foodist I'm developing a taste for other things less-cooked.

Bobi I see that too. I think it is the freshness of the original piece. My challenge is to find a way to keep that as the painting progresses. Thanks for "seeing" that and pointing it out to me.
Cheers.
