Metallic Box 2

Saturday and Sunday I worked on another Ampersand 12" x 12" x 2" Cradled Hardboard that had been primed and covered with an espresso brown metallic plaster called Lusterstone. I then added a decorative Modello (one time use stencil) and trowelled on two more layers of Lusterstone, one a green gold, followed by a thinly pulled layer of frosty blue. I pulled out the stencil and have a beautiful shimmery design. I am really torn whether I should leave it as is or add an element to it. It's very bold so the design has visually outweighed anything I've tried to image on it. It is brighter and more lustrous in person. Any suggestions? As is or add an element?

My oppinion; It is perfect as it is. Nothing further is needed.

Agree with Michael, it's stunning.

Think of doing a series with this technique and/or stencil. So for the next one, a variation with a slightly different element... like a orange stroke here and there that mimics the stencil. Or a drop shadow, or a different underneath color than the expresso... etc. etc.

Great feedback. Thank you both!

I agree as well. I want to give a tug on the "metal" cut-outs and lift!
