Too long away

This is my first real day in the studio since...JULY.  Yes, July!  No matter what good and noble causes are out there it is never reason enough to be away so long.
I popped out to the studio near Christmas looking to repair a belt I was wearing.  I sat at my desk, looked around the room and ached, absolutely ached to be there.  That's when I knew I best quit quibbling and initiate Art-a-Day 2.  I needed it.
I have a new-to-me Neycraft burn-out kiln I'm going to use for lost wax casting (and numerous other things too.)  Ron Gerton is going to help me get up to speed on the process so I  readied some waxes for our first trial - a few textures and experiments from some scrap sheet wax.  I had to fashion a few tools and refresh myself on some skills.  I thought to take pictures of the entire process but there are far too many steps and plenty enough places one can go to find such things if interested. If you are not familiar with the process, these awkward green and red things will be magically transformed into silver.

Casting. Sounds like fun. I have a railroad anvil for you that Vince got. I could drop it by afterschool next week or if you are in the area, you can stop by. Good luck with the new kiln.

By all means come by anytime. I'd also love to come by and visit your class this year. What hours are you in class? Can I just pop in?

It would be very enjoyable to observe your process sometime.
