The one on the (Rt) I did on Friday, and my son told me that the wings were not right, of which he was correct. I tried to fix it tonight (not very successfully) and did another one (Lt) trying to get the wing formation more correct. But I can't decide where the wings should come out of the body. I need to keep looking at actual photo's to try to get it right. I am a beginner at this.

I would never have noticed where the wings came out of the body if you hadn’t said anything. These are just stylized versions of dragonflies, so no problem and I like them a lot. The symbolism is perfect!
I agree since they're not meant to be anatomical depictions, it doesn't matter. That said, I like the left one better with the 2 narrow connections to the body...seems more pleasing.
I think if you combine the two you've got it. The placement of the wings on the right with the orientation of the wings on the left!
