"A Quick Trip to the Beach"

Ok, so I thought the rule was that everyone that participates does a new piece of art each day in January then posts it here. But, it seems not everyone has taken the "worm," and today, I didn't get anything done either.

So, I'm going to pretend that I went to Lincoln City, OR, for just a few minutes today. The sun was warm, and the sand felt good against my naked toes. The dog chased a stick into the surf and we had cheese and crackers and wine and hot dogs and s'mores, and we flew our kites.

I did a quick watercolor sketch, and then we crashed in the cabin. And for just those few moments of what was really one of last autumn's final glorious days, the cold air, the heavy gray clouds, and the promise of freezing rain, disappeared.

Just for a few moments.

Maybe you can take a quick trip too.

The very original plan when it was a personal challenge was to create something new everyday. For me and others it simply didn't turn out that way - so, being creative and "we don't need no stinking rules" -types, we adapted and diverted. Daily and honest effort are still expected because that's where the larger magic can happen.
The blog was started to share the experience. (thank you, Michael). Blogging and downloading images was a learning curve for many and spending such time on the computer doesn't always fit the reality of our lives.
All that said, don't you just love it when people do share?
Hear that everyone?!!!

For me doing a new project everyday just isn't realistic. I like to much detail which takes a LOT of time when your a perfectionist like myself. However, I do blog everyday, so I like to think that evens it out :)
Beautiful picture bye the way, It makes me miss my family's beach cabin in Rock Away OR. *sigh*

I love the watercolor 'sketch' and since I'm still such a newbie in trying to get my arms around watercolor mixing and action etc, I so appreciate seeing successful drawings.
I absolutely ADORE it when the watercolor does what I intend, which is rarely - the surprises were a frustration at first, but I'm trying to learn to go with the flow and take each "failure" as a learning experience - what else are they??
Thanks so much for sharing.
