Sister asleep

My first two posts are drawings I started while at home with my family in the UK at Christmas - and have just quickly finished this past couple of days. After today I'm hoping to post what I actually draw that day, so as to keep within the spirit of the blog!

This was a quick pen & ink sketch drawing of my sister asleep on the couch on Boxing Day evening (26th Dec). The poor girl hates it as it's probably not the most flattering depiction ever - and I messed up her right hand a bit. But even she accepts that it captured her sheer exhaustion after a tough few weeks...

I'm going to try pen & ink more often, as I need to remove my reliance on pencil and the putty rubber whenever things go wrong.

Fabulous sketch - definitely conveys tiredness - looking forward to what you do next.

What famous artist said, when someone commented that an image he created didn't look like them, "it will"? Picasso?

Thanks for the comments - especially the Picasso one, Jim - I think Ali begrudgingly accepts now that it was a pretty good likeness, but that she, um... perhaps didn't look her best :)
