China Trip

The plan was to work all day on the show I have scheduled at 'You and I Framing' in Kennewick in March. I really, really struggled getting past some work issues and wrapping my head around these temples. I want to portray these huge, angular structures in a soft, beautiful and organic way but they are just too full of straight lines and angles. The experience is taking me way past the photo and trying to simply portray the structure in a more empathetic way. People are easier (there really is a temple there)...

How about simple "temple motifs" suggesting to the viewer exactly what is there, with a few straight, or simple suggested lines showing the connection to the motifs...then with people, yes, people always make the image so much richer. Just some thoughts.

your effortless expression, and simplicity of line, value and space make for another beautiful piece. The curvaceous figure and trees juxtaposed against angular lines of the temple would be an interesting combo.
